WEIFANG MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
Weifang Medical University is a medical university located in Weifang, Shandong Province, China.
The university was founded in 1951 as Changwei Medical College of Shandong Province. Later, the university was established as Changwei Medical College, which offers undergraduate courses.
In 1987, the university was restructured and became Weifang Medical University.
The university was approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education to offer postgraduate programs in medicine in 1986. Chinese Ministry of Education approved MBBS in Weifang Medical University to offer postgraduate medical degrees in 2002.

Weifang Medical University (WFMU) is a state medical university. It is in Weifang, the international aviation capital, in the center of the Shandong Peninsula. WFMU covers an area of over 1.2 million square meters, of which 570,000 square meters is building land.
Over the past decades, a comprehensive and interdisciplinary model has been formed at WFMU, offering a range of disciplines including medical sciences, health management, general sciences, law, and literature, with medical sciences as the core discipline. WFMU can award bachelor’s and master’s degrees and recruit international students.
WFMU can recruit doctoral students in cooperation with Shandong University, Southern Medical University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, as well as Shandong Medical Technology Training Center and Basic Health Management Executive Training Center.

WFMU has 15 schools and departments, including the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Public Health and Administration, the School of Nursing, the School of Dentistry, the Department of Clinical Medicine, the Department of Anesthesiology, the Department of Medical Radiology and the Department of Preventive Medicine.
Teaching staff
There are currently 1,000 faculty members. There are four supervisors for doctoral students and almost 200 for postgraduate students.

The university offers 16 undergraduate degree programs: Clinical Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Anesthesiology, Medical Imaging, Medical Laboratories, Preventive Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health and Administration, Labor and Social Security, Marketing, Law, Applied Psychology, Health Statistics, Biological Technology, English Language. There are more than 14,000 full-time students in 3- and 5-year programs.
Research Centers
WFMU has always focused on education and continuous quality improvement. It has a medical research center, a state-of-the-art learning technology center, an IT center, and an animal breeding center. More than RMB 110 million worth of scientific research equipment installed, including confocal laser microscopes (Zeiss), flow cytometers (Beckman Coulter), and image processing equipment.
There are provincial-level experimental and demonstration centers. There are six general education laboratories in morphology, functions, chemical analysis, clinical skills, informatics, and human anatomy and 16 specialized laboratories in genetic engineering, tissue engineering, dentistry, and nursing equipped with state-of-the-art PACS imaging systems, digital network interactive educational experimentation systems, and biofunctional experimentation systems BL-. 410, etc.
The Experimental Centre for Basic Medicine is an experimental demonstration and training center at Shandong University. There are 24 institutes in pathology, neurophysiology, stem cell differentiation and circulation, molecular cell biology, urology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, anaesthesiology, community medicine, public health management, epidemiology, health statistics and health economics.
Scientific achievements
FMMU has made many research achievements in recent years, with more than 340 research projects, including 16 major projects from the National Natural Science Foundation and National Key Experimental Projects, 40 projects from the Provincial Natural Science Foundation and the Foundation for Middle-Aged and Young Scientists, and 260 office-level projects approved by national institutions; more than 220 research awards, including 50 provincial peer review awards.
More than 870 scientific articles and 70 books are published each year; more than 30 outputs are supported for further training at the national level and above; FMMU achieved good social and economic impact with more than 10 national patents; the university library has been awarded more than 2.1 million research projects, including more than 2 million office-level projects. The university library has more than 2.1 million books and 3,000 various Chinese and foreign periodicals.
International exchanges
The University has established international exchange programs with Western State College in California, USA; Khaerkefu State Academy in Ukraine; Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy in Ukraine; RMIT University and La Trobe University in Australia WFMU has extensive partnerships with many foreign universities, including RMIT University and La Trobe University in Australia, Saskatchewan College in Canada, and the University of Occupational and Environmental Medicine in Japan.

Admission Procedure.
Applicants must be school leavers, aged between 18 and 35 years, in good health and fluent in English.
Note: Applicants must have passed HSK Level 4 by the time they graduate.

1. a medical certificate (a notarized copy of the alien’s medical examination certificate valid for a period of study of more than 6 months);
2. a photocopy of a valid passport (with name, passport number, date of expiry, and photograph);
3. passport photograph (recent photograph of the applicant at passport size);
4. High school diploma (high school diplomas written in languages other than Chinese or English translated into Chinese or English and notarized);
